🍻 Bmw E46 Service Interval Reset
I just want to reset that annoying inspect -XXX miles indicator. I already did inspection 1. Thanks in advance
The OBC service interval counter alternates, each time it is reset, between "Oil Service" and "Inspection". BMW, in the wisdom of "free service" from the dealership decided that oil changes were only needed every 15,500 miles (+- driving style, as it's adjusted for fuel consumed).
Oil Service Indicator Reset - not sure if successful. I just tried to reset my oil svc indicator by pressing and holding the trip odometer button, turning the key to accessory, wait 5 secs, etc. When i do this, "SAI" lights and stays on (I'm still holding the trip odometer button) then flashes RE SAI. Then goes out.
My process differs slightly, and it works fine on my '01 325i (for oil change intervalshaven't tried it for inspections). - Press and hold trip meter
Inspection 2 generally runs around $400+ to $500+. Below are the items that are normally performed. Edited: 6/14/2022, added this:Note1: Turn the EWS board so the connector facing up (the chip small dot is now on the right side), the chip pins should be mirror image of the socket, i.e. pin6 Black should be on the LH side of the chip and not the RH side as on the socket There had been a lot www.e46fanatics.com.

I recently had my oil changed at the dealer free at its one year oil change. I had already changed it once at 7500 miles. I plan on paying for one oil change between the free ones.
Select ENGINE OIL and press the RESET button for a few seconds to display a two (2) line menu in the tachometer. Press the RESET (or AXIAL) button to select the SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE. BMW’s B58 engine is a 3.0L inline-6 turbocharged, direct injection gasoline engine produced from 2016-present. As with the N55, the B58 engine uses a single twin-scroll turbocharger. Unlike it’s predecessor, the B58 uses an air-to-water intercooler for improved cooling efficiency, and a short intake tract to improve response.
Timing Chain Tensioner for BMW X Series E70 (2007-2013) Clear BMW chassis. The timing chain tensioner is vital to maintaining not only proper timing, but the life of the chain itself. Generally these will need to be replaced before the chain itself goes bad. Be sure to change yours at the proper intervals to avoid failure.
Recommended Maintenance for the BMW E46 3 Series. Oil. Change your oil every 7500 miles even though the recommended interval is 15000 miles. This is not because the synthetic oil won’t last a long, but because the paper oil filters will disintegrate sending debris into your engine. I have always changed my oil with Mobil 1 5W-30 Synthetic
